Rangers end with a bang in 2013. Pride is in the air!

Rangers are proud of their win!
picture taken from Daily News

Today, the Rangers won against the Panthers 2-1! Wow what an end to the 2013 year!

Very happy the Rangers can feel this pride going in to New Years. Lundqvist did very well out there and I am proud that he plays in NYC

Here is the recap from http://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/en/recap?id=2013020600

It's been a struggle so far this season forHenrik Lundqvist, but 2013 ended on a high note for the New York Rangers goalie.
Lundqvist made 21 saves in regulation and overtime before stopping three Florida Panthers in the shootout when the Rangers won 2-1 Tuesday at BB&T Center.
Brad Richards scored the only goal in the shootout, allowing Lundqvist to outduel veteran Tim Thomas.
"It's a good feeling to end the year," Lundqvist said. "It's been up-and-down, no question. We've talked about it so many times now, but we continue building both as a group and also for myself here. Let's enjoy the new year tonight and then get back to work in a couple of days."
Lundqvist, who had a 3.68 goals-against-average in his previous eight starts, stopped rookie Aleksander Barkov andJonathan Huberdeau in the shootout before Richards beat Thomas in the third round with a quick shot off the left post.
Lundqvist clinched the victory with a save against Brad Boyes, who leads all NHL players with 36 career shootout goals and was 5-for-6 this season.
"[Henrik] was big for us tonight," said Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi, who sent the game to overtime with a goal with 2:10 left in the third period. "He made the big saves when he had to. When we needed him he was there, and that's why we've got him back there. He's a pretty big clutch player for us."
Lundqvist came in with a 5-2-1 record, a 1.23 goals-against average and a .959 save percentage in his prior eight starts at BB&T Center.
The Rangers have won four of five and are 2-1-0 on a five-game road trip that will wrap up with back-to-back games against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday and Saturday.
Thomas stopped 30 shots in his 400th NHL appearance after missing the previous eight games because of a groin injury, the third time this season he missed time because of groin problems.
He was activated off injured reserve last week, but the Panthers went with backup Scott Clemmensen in weekend games against the Detroit Red Wings and the Montreal Canadiens to give Thomas more time to get ready.
Before his latest injury, Thomas won his last three starts while allowing five goals. He stopped Mats Zuccarello andDerek Stepan in the shootout.
"I felt really good for a first game back," Thomas said. "It was one of those nights where if I could see it I could save it. I thought we were going to hang on until the end there, but that's hockey. We're picking up some momentum and doing some good things. We're a much better hockey team than we were in October. If we keep making strides, that's the direction you want to head in."
Thomas was trying for his first shutout for the Panthers, but Girardi beat him with a wrist shot from the top of the left circle. His goal helped atone for a mistake that led to the Florida goal in the second period.
"It felt pretty good," Girardi said. "It was kind of disappointing that one bad play could ruin a game for the team and yourself, so I was just glad I could put one in there and kind of redeem myself a little bit."
Girardi's goal came after Florida forward Tomas Kopecky lost his stick in front of the Panthers net and skated to the bench to get a new one, even though the puck was in the defensive zone.
"There are different theories to that," Panthers coach Peter Horachek said. "It's a little bit surprising that he would go there. A lot of teams would say, 'Go get your stick and hold the ice,' but I don't think that was a great time when the puck was behind the net, because if you leave that area obviously there's a big area open."
Boyes scored for the Panthers, who are 1-2-1 on a five-game homestand that ends against the Nashville Predators on Saturday.
Tuesday was the final game between the Rangers and Panthers this season. The Rangers won the first two, 4-3 at New York on Nov. 10 and 5-2 at BB&T Center on Nov. 27. The Rangers have won six of the past seven meetings here.
New York had two of its defensemen back in the lineup: Marc Staal returned after missing 10 games because of a concussion, and Anton Stralman was back after missing the game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday with a wrist injury.
Boyes broke a scoreless tie at 10:42 of the second period after Barkov intercepted Girardi's pass behind the Rangers net. Barkov fed Boyes in front and he deked to his backhand before sliding the puck between Lundqvist's legs.
The goal was Boyes' team-leading 10th of the season but his second in his past 18 games.
"It was a hard-fought game from both teams," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said. "There wasn't tons of room out there. After a pretty stingy first period as far as scoring chances on both sides, our power play got some great looks in the second. We had some Grade A scoring opportunities. The only thing we didn't do was put it past their goaltender, who obviously was on top of his game tonight. We made one mistake in the second, they made us pay for it. But we stuck with the process and brought it down to the wire and we were able to tie it and win it in OT."
The Panthers had a chance to pad their one-goal lead with a four-minute power play midway through the third period after Nick Bjugstad was high-sticked by Richards but could manage one shot. Bjugstad left the ice with a trainer but later returned.
"The four-minute [penalty kill] in the third, that's a big moment in the game," Lundqvist said. "It let us continue to chase for the first goal there. It really helped us win this one."

Jets win and have a season of pride

WOW! It's over? Are you sure? NOO! I love to watch Sunday football. Oh well.

The last game of the season the Jets beat Miami in a game which was crucial for Miami. The Jets beat the Giants record this year and have shown a lot of progress.

Rex has been confirmed to be back next year. he also gave an emotional speech today: http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/videos/EXCLUSIVE-Rexs-Postgame-Locker-Room-Speech/f1f63792-df6c-44f3-99d4-ea4f40b1aade

Eli got injured this game but played well when he was active. What can the Giants do to shape up? Follow us this off season!

Mets fielding positions?

Hello-
I have been thinking, what will the Mets fielding look like? So I thought about it and came up with this:

SS- hopefully they will get Drew so that'll be above AVG if not it'll be Tejada
1st Base-switch up between Ike,Satin and Duda
2nd Base Eric Young or Murph
3rd base we don't have a "good one" so we'll have to use a GREAT one David Wright
Catcher: Travis d'Arnaud
Outfield: Juan Lagares,Young,Eric Young and Curtis Granderson
Starting pitchers:Wheeler,Colon,Mejia,Gee,Niese and Syndegard,Degrom and Montero mid season

all in all it's not to bad. We have a major upgrade in the outfield and a decent upgrade at the mound. Is this enough to make the Mets a winning team? I am not so sure. They need to trade for a first baseman or short stop. We also need another starting pitcher and much more depth.

Let's go Mets,*NOT WFAN* dododo!

Geno Smith and Rex Ryan

Geno:

Geno has a lot of raw talent. As a Jets fan I think Geno is part of the solution. He needs to be coached better. To say Geno is the problem isn't true.

If Geno is to improve he needs to have better receivers and a better workout routine. Ultimately, this offseason will be a big decision maker for the Jets. They can change like the Mets are doing in baseball and make a few changes which will give big results.

Sad that the changes couldn't have been last year. If the Jets would have been in the superbowl in their own stadium would have been very memorable.

Rex:

Rex should stay at least another year. He is a good person and has potential. No one knows for sure if he is above average because he hasn't been given a team which would be able to utilize their potential and Rex's skills.

I vote we keep him and upgrade the team and see how well he does then. Otherwise we have really no answers either way.

Jets Last game

The Jets have made an admiral run for playoffs but unfortunately didn't make it. All I can is tomorrow's game against Miami will be EPIC! The Jets are able to ruin Miami's chances for the playoffs so there is a lot at stake at tomorrows game.

Tune in tomorrow to see History go down LIVE!

Giants Final Game

Tomorrow will be the end of the season for the NY Giants. Tomorrow will be a game of pride as it's impossible they will make any post season activities. Although the Super Bowl will be in NY the Giants will not be able to get that homeland advantage.

Tomorrows game is predicted to be a win by most news reports. I also do predict a win.

I hope the Giants have a successful off season and shape up to be the team they used to be and are capable of being.

Morten Andersen Interview

Hello Sports fans! Tomorrow is the last Giants game of the season :( I thought this would be appropriate to be released today. The interview is with Morten Andersen who is in my opinion and statistically the best kicker to ever wear an NFL uniform. He is also the second to oldest player EVER! He played at one point for the Giants and we will never forget about such a legends legacy.

Morten gave me the time to ask him a couple questions. So here are the answers he gave:

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and came to the US as an exchange student in 1977. After one year at Ben Davis High School, I received an athletic scholarship to Michigan State University. In 1982, I was drafted in the 4th round by New Orleans Saints.

2) in 1982 when you hurt your foot on the first kick off, what was going through your head? Did you feel this would go on your whole career?
I was thinking that it wasn't the start to my career that I had wished for.

3) you where in 6 Probowls with the saints. Who would you thank or helped you achieve such an accomplishment?
I had great guys snapping and holding for me and guys up from protecting. I also was fortunate to have worked with intelligent, passionate special teams coaches.

4)How does it feel to have broken so many records? Which are you favorite or proudest records you broke?
My longevity and consistency throughout my career is what makes me the proudest and having shared the records with so many great players and coaches.

5) What went in to the decision of not resigning to become the oldest player ever?
I wasn't able to prepare physically the same way for the season so I decided it wasn't the way that I wanted to end it. My focus was always to play and prepare at the highest level.

6) is there any decisions you regret in your football career?
I really wanted to score a touchdown, but no one ever threw me the ball.

7) which players did you enjoy the most playing with?
Bobby Hebert, Clay Mathews, Kendall Gammon, Trent Green,Todd Collins

8)What would you suggest to someone who wants to go in to the NFL?
have a plan B, because only a small % get to play in NFL.
Stay humble, focused and work hard.

9)Do you have a way for fans to contact you for autographs or just to chat or ask a question?
Yes. Mortenandersen.com. I charge 20$ for autographs and the money goes to my foundation: The Morten Andersen Family Foundation. We support quality of life programs form youth and also the special operations forces community.

Nets Brutally defeated by the Bulls

WOW! The Nets failed to execute against the Bulls. Why? The score wasn't even in the 100s for either team. It's really an issue. Jason Kidd is still trying to find out himself. My predictions this season is 1-3 which is an old time low. I expected much more from a starting lineup of 35+ all star appearances.

This is some comments on yesterdays game.

“It’s frustrating,” shooting guard Joe Johnson said about the booing, the loudest and nastiest heard at Barclays Center this season. “But we deserve it.”

“I’m surprised at this season, how it’s played out altogether,” point guard Deron Williams said. “It’s like a nightmare.”

“At the end of the day, the coach can only hold you responsible for energy and effort,” Kidd said. “If you’re not giving it, I have to take you out. If you’re missing shots, that’s just part of the game. But if you’re not giving energy or effort, I’ve got to take you out.”

Tomorrows Nets game and Brook Lopez

Hello Sports fans!

Tomorrows game will be EPIC! Unfortunately I will not be able to be in attendance but I will be watching the game. Tomorrow night the Nets will face the Pacers. The Pacers are currently the best team in the NBA. I am really excited to see Jason Kidd lead his team to victory!

Brook Lopez is currently injured and won't be in tomorrows game.  The Nets record without Lopez is 1-4.

Good Luck Nets!

Tomorrow nights prediction: WIN!

Zack Wheeler on Travis d'Arnaud

Zack wheeler says Travis was great behind the plate. He was able to make balls or borderline pitches look like Strikes. Although his batting wasn't so good. He had an average of .202 with a .286 OBP. But Zack says he will be able to do much better next year and will really shine.

Michael Here! I had the opportunity, thanks to the Lakers, to interview Xavier Henry! I am very excited to post it here on this blog!

Universal Interview (By Xavier Henry)

"He's Kobe Bryant. How's it [his return] not going to help us? He'll help us in every facet of the game. He'll bring a lot of leadership with him."

2.     What have you learned most about Kobe, with your experience on the same team?
"He's really smart. He goes at his own pace and he really owns the game. He communicates with everybody on his teams and he gets everything done."

Do old teammates still have chemistry?

A few years ago I was bothered by a question. Do teammates who you played with years ago still have chemistry with you?

So, I got the answer when I went down to Citi Field. Look at the picture and tell
Me what you think.
That's two former players Tim Teufel with Bobby Ojeda.

I took this picture to show how teammates chemistry will never die down
. Teammates once and it's a friendship which lasts forever.

Nets destroy the 76ers

Monday nights game was epic! 37 points by Johnson and the team did over all fantastic. Even though Lopez was out and their record without lopez was 1-7 they still managed to win, barely but win. They only won by 36 points but it's still  a win :) Just kidding. This was the best score from the Nets since 2000.

His team mates were amazed by Johnson and had this to say about him : Deron- "He had 29 in a quarter? Oh my God."

Johnson himself said that his teammates were telling when he gets the ball shoot. Jason Kidd was very happy with the  performance of the team.

The legend Paul Mccartney was there. He kept screaming " We want Regie" and he didn't even play a minute. so much for those breaths.

Tomorrow against Washington I predict a win

September 17 VIP Mets

You ever have the feeling that something won't work? You know, then you do it anyway? Well that's what happened to me and Mr.Wilpon with the Mets.

It was a Monday in August when I was in my Manhattan office and I remembered how happy I was when I got to meet Mr. Wilpon a while back so before I left to the subway to go back home I decided to email Mr.Wilpon a question. I basically told him I am a Mets fan and how if I would be able to come down to Citi Field, interview a player or two I would be forever grateful.

After sending the email I said "ok,I did my part, now god please help me". I never take my phone out on the train for safety reasons but when I felt my iPhone buz I had to check it assuming maybe it was Mr. Wilpon. I look at my phone and see an email from Jeff Wilpon. I was ready to scream! I open the email and he told me to follow up with Jay Horwitz, who is the mets very well known pr manager. Me and Jay then scheduled the day to be September 17,Mets VS SF Giants.

I wake up on the 17th at about 4:00 AM out of excitement and I dawn my brand new suit which I bought to wear when I meet the Mets. At about 1:00 I start to head to citi field. When my train arrives I see citi field surrounded by a beautiful sunny bright, blue sky.

I enter the stadium through the Hodges and I am told by the PR assistant,Ethan Wilson,to follow him. I follow him and I walk in to the Mets conference room! He told me to sit down and take a picture.

I didn't sit down out of respect to all the legends who have sit in this exact seat. I was ready to shriek but it only gets better.

I follow Ethan out of this room into a long hallway. I start to walk down the hallway and I hear "Whack", "Whoosh", and many other kind of noises. As I go down the hallway it gets louder and louder. I then walk in to the Mets 1st baseman Lucas Duda, and believe me I was star struck. I told him " What's up Lucas?" he responded "Nothing Much,I'll see you in a few." I walk a bit more and suddenly the noises stoped, but then I see Eric Young JR walking out of the indoor batting cages and I say "YO ERIC" he was so nice to me.

I then move on to the dugout and being interviewed in there is Travis D'arnaud. I waited until he was finished and asked for an autograph and a picture.
As soon as he left I decided to get closer to the field and on the "Wright" was David Wright ( Mets All star 3rd baseman.) I was watching him take pre batting practice practice. When he was done we took a picture and he signed for me my jersey and baseball.

Then I got to meet all the players as they were walking in and out of the field for equipment ETC..

They they gave me free really good tickets and was told to enjoy the game. It was so AMAZING!

Can't wait to go back for 2014.

My first Nets game

Last week Tuesday I was invited by a family member who has Courtside Season tickets, to a game with him. I arrive at the Barclays Center subway stop with a surreal feeling and butterflies in my stomach. I gett of the train and see hundreds of people around. The sight was amazing and nothing I have ever seen in my 15 years of living in Brooklyn.   I then make my way up the elevator to the Calvin Klein VIP club. I was amazed on how well it was designed and how brilliant it was.
I make it over to the Kosher Food stand prepared to pay for the food I took, but there's no register or workers to take the money. So I go over to a Nets employee and he told me it was FREE. Perfect! I'll take triples!

I then make my way to my seats which where located 2nd row directly opposite the home players bench. After chanting "Let's GO BROOKLYN" for about an hour it was half time. We walk out and go near the locker rooms and meet Nets VP Leo Ehrline. I started to talk to him and he handed me his card and told me to email him. Can my night get any better? I didn't think so until I met the Nets mascot.

I then start walking to my seats and I see i
former Nuggets,Celtics Player who was a 2x all star who was also the GM of the nuggets, former NJ Net coach and current NBA VP of basketball operations. His name is Kiki Vandeweghe ,standing 6"8 he was one of the nicest people ever!  We took a picture together and it was such a pleasure meeting him! I also got his email address and I will be interviewing him in January! So excited!

After going back to my seat to the right of me, was Rapper Fabulous. He was also very nice! Took a picture together And spoke for a few minutes.

THIS DAY WAS GREAT!!!!!
